Publishing in the overflowing genre of paranormal romance.

When I was a little girl my brother made me sit and watch all the old monster movies like Frankenstein, Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Godzilla, Nosferatu (which scared the crap out of me) and my favorite Dracula. Even though most of the movies I watched between my fingers because my hands hid my face I still loved them. To me vampires out of any of the paranormal/monster beings I grew up watching had a mysterious, creepy, yet romantic feel behind them. The more recent vampire movies seemed to catch on to the romantic lure of vampires such as Interview with the Vampire, The Lost Boys and Twilight to name a few.

In the wake of Twilight tons of books surfaced with publishers trying to get in with the Twilight phenomenon. So yeah, to say the vampire paranormal romance genre is overflowing is a total understatement. I read Twilight and really liked it even though my tastes usually run more toward adult reads. I have also seen the movies which I liked a lot. I have probably seen all of the vampire movies out there and I have to say it’s pretty cool to see where the genre is going. It pretty much started with Nosferatu, which this dude is the creepiest vampire I have yet to see, to Twilight and sparkly vampires.

My first book Damon (The Protectors Series #1) has been compared to Twilight and True Blood. I really haven’t gotten into the True Blood series, which I’m sure I’m missing out, but have been too busy writing. I guess it’s fair that Damon has been compared to Twilight, but it could be compared to many other vampire books out there. Although it is more adult driven with no sparkly vampires.

I will let you be the judge and post a blurb to see what you think.

Damon DeMasters is a vampire warrior who has taken an oath to not only protect his own kind, but humans as well. Crimson Rush is the new drug on the streets and it’s their duty to find who is behind the selling of vampire blood and stop it.

As a social worker, Nicole Callahan fights for the right of every child placed in her care. There’s a war now as vampires have stepped out into the spotlight taking their place in society and the children are at the heart of it all.

Damon and his fellow warriors have been ordered by the Vampire Council to train Nicole and her colleagues against the dangers they now face in their new world. Even as sparks fly and tensions mount, Nicole and Damon depend on each other to protect the children of both races.

    1. I am so glad you like Damon and I appreciate the exposure you have given me and him. 🙂 It means so much!!!!! The Lost Boys ROCK! If it’s on TV I’m watching it or if the mood hits I’m putting in the DVD. HA! My husband and son walk in the room, see it on TV, turn right back around and walk out rolling their eyes. I do the same thing with Dirty Dancing.

Thanks so much for all your support!! Talk to ya soon!!
